STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State University accomplished a rarity in 2012, when two faculty members with the OSU Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering were named Fellows by their professional organization in the same year.
Department Head and Professor Dan Thomas (pictured on left) and OSU Regents Professor Glenn Brown (pictured on right) were so recognized by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers in 2012.

A young child grabs the controls of what looks like a video game controller to interact intently with the 3-D solar system on the large screen before her. She is having fun playing in the high-definition virtual reality environment. And she’s a part of a quiet revolution involving the future of learning, and Oklahoma State University faculty members are at the forefront of it.
The child at play has autism, and this learning experience is part of a pilot initiative aimed at helping children with autism learn science.

A team of engineering students from Oklahoma State University have been selected to fly weightless aboard NASA’s reduced gravity aircraft to study the design of an artificial gravity system. The flight will take place later this spring.

Oklahoma City — The pending integration of unmanned aircraft into the National Airspace System will bring numerous jobs to Oklahoma and other states in the near future, and AUVSI brought that news to the state capitol building on 16 Jan.
Gov. Mary Fallin joined AUVSI President and CEO Michael Toscano at a press conference to discuss preliminary results of an AUVSI-sponsored study that forecasts more than 100,000 new jobs, many of them in manufacturing, across the country by 2025.

Burke and Beall committed to continued growth of America’s Railroad
WASHINGTON – Yvonne Brathwaite Burke and Christopher Beall are expected to soon
assume their new responsibilities as members of the Amtrak board of directors. They were
nominated by President Obama and recently confirmed by the United States Senate. Each will
serve a five-year term.
