Dr. Mike Xiang named American Society of Mechanical Engineer Fellow

October 9, 2025

In recognition of individuals who have represented these values to a high degree, ASME names members to its fellowship. Since the 1960s, ASME has given this title to just 4,000 engineers. A College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology professor is one of the latest, as Dr. Mike Xiang of the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering was recently named an ASME Fellow.

OSU chemical engineering student receives national AIChE award

Reagan Tollefson, a junior in chemical engineering at Oklahoma State University, has been named the recipient of the 2024–25 Donald F. Othmer Second Year Student Award by the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).

FCEM Ph.D. student receives Quarantelli Scholarship from the International Association of Emergency Managers

Elise Hayes, a Ph.D. student in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology’s School of Fire, Construction and Emergency Management, was recently honored with IAEM’s Quarantelli Scholarship, which will provide her $10,000.

In Memoriam: Dr. Michael Hoban Branson

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Michael Hoban Branson, emeritus associate professor in the School of Industrial Engineering and Management at Oklahoma State University. Dr. Branson passed away on August 29, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona, at the age of 83.
