ECE is delighted to have Drs. Qi Cheng, Hyusim Park, and Pejman Ghasemzadeh as part of the ECE faculty. They bring considerable experience and expertise in communication systems and circuit design that will strengthen ECE’s instructional and research programs.
Assistant Professor Hyusim Park comes from the University of Texas, Arlington, where she earned her PhD in 2021 and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate from 2021-2023. She specializes in a) integrated circuits and systems for chemical and bio sensing applications, b) analog, digital, and mixed-signal integrated circuits, c) RF and microwave integrated circuits and systems, and d) embedded system design from hardware to software.
Assistant Professor Pejman Ghasemzadeh recently completed his PhD at the University Nebraska, Lincoln in May 2023. His expertise includes wireless communication systems, machine/deep learning, Internet-of-things (IoT), cognitive radio and sensing, and signal processing.
Associate Professor Qi Cheng previously worked in ECE from 2006 to 2017. From 2017 to 2023 she worked at the Lawarence Livermore National Laboratory and the Air Force Research Laboratory. Her considerable experience includes machine learning and artificial intelligence, distributed detection/estimation, smart and secure cyber-physical systems, data fusion, biomedical data analytics, and dynamic modeling.
A big welcome to Qi, Hyusim, and Pejman. We look forward to their many contributions to ECE’s strategic mission of teaching, research, and service.
