From April 1999 to March 2005, Eubanks served as president and CEO of Oblix, Inc. Oblix was a private company funded by venture capital firms including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB). Eubanks managed the company's rapid growth and established its position as a leader in enterprise identity management solutions. In March 2005, Oblix was sold to Oracle Corporation.
From 1984 to 1999, Eubanks was president and chief executive officer of Symantc Corporation (NASDAQ: SYMC). Under his leadership, Symantec evolved into one of the world's most prominent security software companies. Eubanks founded Complier Systems, Inc. in 1975 and authored its products: CBASIC, one of the first successful languages on personal computers. Digital Research acquired Complier Systems in August 1981 where he served as a senior executive responsible for commercial software development and marketing.
Eubanks received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Oklahoma State
University (1968) and his Master's degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate
School (1976) in Monterey, California. Eubanks was a commissioned officer in the U.S.
Navy, serving in the nuclear submarine force from1970 to 1979.
Eubanks has served on many technology company boards including Concur technologies
(NASDAQ: CNQR) acquired by SAP and private company SkyBox acquired by Google. He currently
serves on the boards of QCWare and SkyBox Security, private companies. He is also
serving on the boards of non-profits: The Panetta Institute of Public Policy, the
Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Monterey
County.
