The Center for Integrated Building Systems (CIBS) at Oklahoma State University (OSU)
has a vision of an integrated network of buildings, industrial facilities, energy storage, and
a grid that reduces carbon emissions through intelligently-controlled improvements
in equipment, systems, and chemistry. Our vision is executed through a pre-competitive
research mission that delivers tangible tools, data, codebases, for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning
and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment, energy storage, and refrigerant transition to
support decarbonization. Additionally, CIBS will develop and train energy-literate
talent for our Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) members and the broader community to
further support decarbonization through their products and services.

Rasheed Shittu, a second-year Ph.D. student in mechanical and aerospace engineering at Oklahoma State University, has been selected to receive the Central Oklahoma ASHRAE Scholarship through the Oklahoma City Community Foundation for the 2025–26 academic year.
A student chapter was founded 75 years ago at Oklahoma A&M University, Jan. 23, 1950. The anniversary of the founding was celebrated with a get together at the Zink Center, Jan. 23, 2025, bringing members of the OSU student chapter together with members of the Northeastern Oklahoma and Central Oklahoma chapters.
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers’ (ASHRAE’s) President Ginger Scoggins visited the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) on Tuesday, April 2nd. 2024. While here, she visited some of the labs in CEAT, where she met with students and learned about their Center for Integrated Building Systems (CIBS) projects.
