Welcome to the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering!  Each semester our faculty and staff create exceptional, hands-on, intellectually stimulating learning opportunities for our students.  The research and teaching expertise of our faculty along with state-of-the-art undergraduate and research laboratories drive these experiences.   We invite you to meet our staff, get to know our faculty and visit our laboratories.

Students in Mechanical Engineering at OSU endure intensive academic programs and gain hands-on experience with exciting projects, preparing them for careers after graduation. Whether students are battling robots, working on cars or other capstone projects, they are able to take theories learned in the classroom and apply them to real-world situations.

Oklahoma state mechanical engineering professor publishes new editions of his textbooks

Dr. Afshin J. Ghajar published the 2025 RELEASE of his book “Heat and Mass Transfer – Fundamentals and Applications,” McGraw-Hill, 2025 and 2026 RELEASE of his book, “Fundamentals of Thermal-Fluid Sciences,” McGraw-Hill, 2026.

CEAT student utilizes interdisciplinary experience for success in MBA Case Competition

January 15, 2026

Caden Cantwell, along with a team of Lexi Anderson, Dustin Plott and Dyland Hammond, all business majors, finished first in the OSU MBA Case Competition. Cantwell was also selected as the best male presenter as the team worked through the challenge presented.

MAE graduate research assistant Bunty Tomar receives Graduate Excellence in Materials Science Sapphire Award

Bunty Tomar, a graduate research assistant in the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, was honored with the Graduate Excellence in Materials Science Sapphire Award from the Basic Science Division of The American Ceramic Society – a prestigious industry award for emerging scholars.
