About Us

Our group specializes in fundamental understanding of atomic structure, ordering, crystal chemistry, microstructure and their relationship with material properties to design novel functional ceramic materials. We conduct a wide spectrum of materials science and engineering research: interdisciplinary as well as core materials research; applied and fundamental; microstructure and property modeling; instrumentation and software design/development; aqueous corrosion; and aerospace materials. Our group has developed novel instrumentation and methods to conduct in-situ investigations of materials at high temperatures (up to 2000°C) in air and in user defined environments (up to 1500°C) using synchrotron radiation.
