Friday, April 28, 2023
CEAT traveled to Tulsa, Okla to host a STEM symposium for high school students from
McLain, Memorial and Central high schools as well as Crossover Preparatory Academy.
Students spent the day building pinball machines and Ferris Wheels using simple materials,
and learning about the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
This is all part of the $250,000 that Google donated to OSU for K-12 STEM outreach programs in 2022 to inspire students at a young age to pursue STEM fields.
CEAT’s K-12 initiative Engineering is Everywhere is an investment in the next generation of innovators. Part of CEAT's commitment is to host two STEM symposiums this spring for students, teachers and school administrators t, along with holding STEM camps throughout the summer.
"That's the future,” Jovette Dew, OSU Director of K-12 STEM Programs, said. “It's where a lot of the jobs are going to be.”
