Roshan Revankar has made significant strides in the field of geothermal heating and cooling.

Roshan graduated with a master's degree in mechanical engineering from OSU in 2012 under the mentorship of Dr. Daniel Fisher and Dr. Jeffrey Spitler. His passion for renewable energy and his dedication to excellence have driven his successful career.

When asked what led him to CEAT, Roshan responded, “The Mechanical Engineering program had some imminent professors in geothermal/ground source heat pumps. It is one of the oldest and best in the nation. When I was looking for renewable heating and cooling programs for my masters, this one caught my attention. My professors, Dr. Dan Fisher and Dr. Spitler, were fantastic and I learned a lot from the program.”

After completing his degree, Roshan spent five years working in CEAT. Toward the end of his time with CEAT, he served as the acting executive director of the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association. During his tenure, he trained over 300 installers and became an industry expert in geothermal heating and cooling.

Roshan transitioned to an engineering firm, securing $2.2 million in Department of Energy grant funding over the next five years. In 2022, he founded his own company, which was later acquired by a strategic investor, achieving an impressive valuation.

Currently, Roshan is the co-founder and chief customer officer at Genesys, where he continues to lead and innovate in the HVAC industry. His expertise and leadership have been recognized through his roles as a judge for DOE funding applications, technical chair of the ASHRAE Technical Committee for Geothermal Heat Pumps and contributing author in published safety codes.

Beyond his professional achievements, Roshan has been an active member of several technical committees that establish standards and codes for geothermal technology. He has presented at multiple national and international forums, sharing his knowledge and insights with the broader community.

Roshan's journey at OSU was marked by numerous extracurricular activities. He won the Mr. International title, participated in cultural and sports activities, competed in Spear’s business plan competitions and was instrumental in starting the badminton and cricket clubs at OSU. He also met his wife at OSU, making his time here even more memorable.

Reflecting on his time at OSU, Roshan credits the university's renowned professors and the supportive community for his success. He advises current and future engineering students to explore different streams, master their chosen field and gain industry experience to excel in their careers.

“Whenever I am asked what I like about Oklahoma my answer is always 'The people’ - and I still miss them!” Roshan said.

Roshan's story is a testament to how CEAT prepares its students for fulfilling and successful careers. His achievements are an inspiration to the next generation of engineers to pursue their passions and make a positive impact on the world.
