Oklahoma State University petroleum engineering master's student receives 2024 SPE Imomoh Scholarship

Christian Akhilome, a master’s student in petroleum engineering at Oklahoma State University, recently was awarded the 2024 SPE Imomoh Scholarship.
The prestigious $2,000 award, sponsored by Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) supports, African American students in achieving their goals and succeeding in the oil and gas industry.
Egbert Imomoh, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers since 1972, a founding member of the local SPE organization in Nigeria, and the first Africa Region Director on the SPE Board of Directors, endowed this award to the SPE Foundation to support excellence in education for students from the Africa Region.
Scholarship award recipient Akhilome expressed his excitement at being one of the four students awarded the global scholarship, and thanked his advisor, Dr. Prem Bikkina for his support and recommendation.
“This is a fantastic accomplishment for Christian and an honor for our program,” Bikkina said.
