Norb Delatte receives the G. Brooks Earnest Technical Lecture Award

Norb Delatte, department head for Civil and Environmental Engineering at Oklahoma State University received the G. Brooks Earnest Technical Lecture Award.  The award ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 6th in Cleveland Ohio during the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Cleveland Section.  Presenting the award to Delatte was three of his former students, Fred Hussein, Rich Obratil and Jeff Schellhammer.

 

In 1977, the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Section agreed to establish the G. Brooks Earnest Technical Lecture Award to express the Section's appreciation of the life-long services of G. Brooks Earnest as an educator, President of the ASCE National (1962), President of Fenn College (1952-1964), and President of the Cleveland Section (1943). In addition, this Award commemorates the service he has given to the profession and especially his leadership and inspiration in the education of Engineers.

 
This Award lecture is presented by an outstanding individual of National and/or International prominence, preferably one who is renowned in the field of Civil Engineering. The award recipient is selected by secret ballot by the Members of the Board of Directors from the nominees submitted by the Technical Committees of the Section.

 

The Section provides a special plaque for presentation to the speaker. The amount of funds to be expended for each award lecture will be determined by the Board, dependent upon the funds available, and shall be used for expenses incurred in securing the presentation plaque and the travel and lodging expenses of the speaker and his/her guest.
