DET is pleased to welcome Dr. Lingfeng Tao, MERO/MET assistant professor. Dr. Tao received his PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Colorado School of Mines in 2023 and his Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from SUNY University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, in 2017. He will also serve as the MERO program coordinator. Dr. Tao’s research interests are generally in the areas of Learning-Based Robot Control, mainly Autonomous Robot and Human-Machine Systems, with a focus on improving the learning capability and intelligence of the robot to autonomously complete dexterous manipulation tasks or adapt and cooperate with the human operator naturally and intuitively.
