Friday, March 10, 2023
For the second time, ECE student Thomas Kidd received a scholarship from the 2021 IEEE PES Scholarship Plus program. The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES) is the world’s premier scholarly organization pertaining to all things associated with electrical energy and power generation, transmission, and distribution. Thomas, among others, was selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants residing across the country.
The IEEE PES Scholarship Plus Initiative supports promising students through financial assistance in the increasingly expensive enterprise of undergraduate studies. Funds are paid directly to university to help defray educational costs. Recipients of PES engineering scholarships are high achieving undergraduate students in electrical engineering who have committed to exploring the power and energy fields through both coursework and career experiences. These students will graduate with the knowledge and skills necessary to begin making an impact across the power and energy industry.
Thomas Kidd currently serves the School and his classmates by being the President of the IEEE Student Branch Chapter at OSU.
