ECE and CEAT partner to expand undergraduate research opportunities
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering introduced the ECE Miller Research Scholar Program in 2024 to encourage undergraduate students to engage in research with ECE faculty. Funded through the Lynn T. Miller Endowment via the OSU Foundation, the inaugural 2024–2025 class supported 10 Miller Scholars, each receiving a $2,000 award.
Building on this momentum, the program gained further support in fall 2025 from Associate Dean Carisa Ramming, leading to a new partnership between the ECE Miller program and the CEAT Undergraduate Research Scholarship (URS) program. Together, they launched a three-tier scholarship structure:
- URS+Miller Max – $4,000
- URS+Miller Pro – $3,500
- URS+Miller Plus – $3,000
The ECE Undergraduate Program Committee (UPC) reviewed all URS and Miller applications from ECE students and selected 11 recipients for these awards. In addition, two ECE undergraduates earned the prestigious OSU Wentz Scholarships ($6,000), bringing the total to 13 students recognized this year for their outstanding research potential.
