Leslie Stockel is a Certified Safety Professional with over 30 years of experience in the Safety and Health Profession. Leslie has worked in the manufacturing, petro-chemical and insurance industries as well as aviation, utilities, and public service before joining the academy in 2016.

 

In 2018, she was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and was a founding trustee and director of the BCSP Foundation. She currently serves as BCSP Vice President and will ascend to the President of the Board position in 2022.

 

She is a professional member of the American Society of Safety (Engineers) Professionals where she has held numerous leadership positions both locally and regionally. She a past-president and current member of the ASSP Oklahoma City Chapter where she currently serves as OSU-student section faculty advisor. In 2016 she was named Safety Professional of the Year for the ASSE Oklahoma City Chapter. In 2018, she was named ASSE Region III Safety Professional of the Year for Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.

 

Leslie is the Instructional Director for the OSU OSHA Education center and has been an authorized OSHA outreach instructor for both General Industry and Construction courses for since 2005, teaching numerous OSHA related professional development and outreach courses.

 

In the OSU Fire Protection & Safety Engineering Technology Program, Leslie teaches or has taught the following courses: FPST 2023 Occupational Safety Techniques, FPST 3013 Safety Management, FPST 3213 Human Factors in Accident Prevention, FPST 4333 System and Process Safety Analysis, FPST 4683 Risk Control Engineering, CET 4443 Construction Safety and Loss control, and FPST 4982/4992/4993 Advanced Problems in Fire and Safety and FSEP 5133 Fundamentals of Chemical Process Safety.
