Dr. Charles F. Bunting

Dr. Bunting (S.89.M.94.SM.11) was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He received the A.A.S. degree in electronics technology from Tidewater Community College, Virginia Beach, VA, in 1985, and the B.S. degree (with highest honors) in engineering technology from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA in 1989. He received the M.S. degree in 1992 the Ph.D. degree in 1994 from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA both in electrical engineering.

 He was with the Naval Aviation Depot, Norfolk, as an Apprentice, an Electronics Mechanic, and an Electronics Measurement Equipment Mechanic, from 1981 to 1989. From 1994 to 2001, he was an Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Technology, Old Dominion University where he worked closely with NASA Langley Research Center on electromagnetic field penetration in aircraft structures and reverberation chamber simulation using finite element techniques. In 2001, he joined the faculty of Oklahoma State University as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Full Professor in 2011. In 2012 he was named as the Halliburton Professor of Engineering. His chief interests include engineering education, applied computational electromagnetics, statistical electromagnetics, electromagnetic characterization and application of reverberation chambers, and the analysis and development of near infrared tomography and microwave acoustic tomography for prostate cancer detection.

 

Dr. Bunting is very active in the IEEE EMC society where he chairs tutorials, serves on numerous committees, is a Distinguished Lecturer (2011-2012), and is a member of the Board of Directors.

Dr. James C. West

Dr. West (S.81.M.82.SM.00) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, in 1982 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, in 1986 and 1989, respectively. He served as a Research and Testing Engineer at Boeing Military Airplane Company, Wichita, KS, from 1982 to 1984. He joined the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, in 1989, where he currently holds the rank of Professor. He also served as a Visiting Scientist at the U.S. Office of Naval Research from August 1998 to July 1999. His current research interests include computational electromagnetics as applied to various antenna, scattering, and EMC problems.
