Brenda Shumate

Brenda Shumate is the Vice President of Midstream Operations at Phillips 66. With over 30 years of experience, Brenda is widely recognized for her expertise in team integration and her commitment to driving continuous improvement in the energy sector through cultural engagement, process simplification, and operational excellence.

 

Before joining Phillips 66, Brenda held senior roles at Williams Companies and across engineering, operations, maintenance, and supply chain management. Known for her collaborative approach, she effectively bridges generational, cultural, and industry gaps to leverage her deep operational and technical knowledge. Brenda’s strong business acumen, combined with her Lean Six Sigma expertise, allows her to craft sustainable solutions for complex industry challenges.

 

Brenda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, with a minor in statistics, from Oklahoma State University (1991), an MBA in Technology Management (2006), and an MS in Engineering and Technology Management (2020), also from OSU. Beyond her professional life, Brenda is passionate about her family, sports, travel, and continuous growth in both personal and professional spheres.
