John English, Ph.D.

John R. English is Dean of Engineering and holds the Irma F. and Raymond F. Giffels Endowed Chair at the University of Arkansas. His BSEE degree and MSOR degree are from the University of Arkansas. His Ph.D. in industrial engineering and management is from Oklahoma State University (1988). He has served on the faculties of Texas A&M University, Kansas State University, and the University of Arkansas (head of IE 2000-2007). Prior to returning to the University of Arkansas as dean in 2013, he served as dean of engineering and the LeRoy C. and Aileen H. Paslay Chair at Kansas State.
