John Harrington
John Harrington is CEO of Funds for Learning, LLC. He earned a BS in IEM at OSU in about 1991. Twenty years ago, this summer, he started Funds For Learning. FFL improves 6 million K-12 student lives by helping schools and libraries nationwide receive Internet access with help from the federal E-rate funding program. The E-rate program is built on a horrendous web of forms and deadlines – each one a potential “gotcha” that serves as a barrier, limiting Internet access in classrooms and library facilities.
Funds For Learning, has forged a team of experts, with a focus on fostering a healthy,
productive culture that delivers excellent results for our clients. FFL’s systems
are constantly evolving to better serve their mission – and much of their work is
built on industrial engineering principles.
FFL has a long history of successfully guiding its clients through the E-rate process:
• FFL has prepared 20,390 funding requests totaling more than $1.66 billion.
• Only 4.1% of FFL’s funding requests have been denied (only $68 million out of $1.66
billion, excluding discount threshold denials).
• FFL has managed dozens of audits, hundreds of special reviews, and thousands of
PIA
responses.
• FFL created E-rate Manager®, an exclusive online system to manage and archive E-rate
projects.
FFL currently consists of approximately 30 members. FFL’s professional team has over 260 years of combined E-rate experience. The group is well skilled with 29 bachelor degrees and eight graduate/postgraduate degrees, including four Juris Doctorates, one Certified Public Accountant, numerous graduate degrees in Business, Management and Communications, and multiple professional and technical certifications.
John has a strong record of leadership, and as a consultant and instructor. He is a highly effective speaker (400 training programs in 25 states on funding, grant writing, and more).
