IEM Student Research Symposium

 

Date and Time: Thursday, April 17, 2025, 2:30 pm to 5 pm


Location: Endeavor hallways and common areas


Format: Poster presentations. A recommended template is attached; modifications to the template are also acceptable.

 

Participants: All undergraduate and graduate students in IEM are welcome to participate. Undergraduate and graduate students’ posters are evaluated in two separate categories.

 

*Students from InCySe Hackathon 2025 are welcome to join us to present their posters at the venue.

Important Information

  • Registration
    • Send the poster title and names and emails of all co-authors to Ms. Alison McAleavy<alison.mcaleavy@okstate.edu>; also indicate your graduate/undergraduate category.
    • If a poster is co-authored by both undergraduate and graduate students, it can register in either 
      graduate or undergraduate category, but not both.
    • Attach your poster as a pdf document.
    • Registration deadline is 5 PM on Friday, April 11, 2025.
    • In case of space availability constraints, priority will be given to early registrants

  • Judges
    • Judges will consist of IEM current and emeritus faculty, IAB/TCA members, and invited guests. 
  • Judging Criteria
    • Clarity of problem definition
    • Effectiveness of research methodology
    • Contributions and impact of results
    • Design of poster
    • Presentation of poster and interactions with audience
  • Cash Prizes

    The cash prizes are for all student co-authors of the winning poster to share. The six winning teams (one person representing each team) will be invited to the IEM Award Banquet on April 18, 2025.

     

    • First prize for graduate student posters: $300
    • Second prize for graduate student posters: $200
    • Third prize for graduate student posters: $100
    • First prize for undergraduate student posters: $300
    • Second prize for undergraduate student posters: $200
    • Third prize for undergraduate student posters: $100
  • Audience Participation

    Each audience (excluding poster co-authors) is given a same number 
    of tokens (while supplies last), who can award the tokens to his/her favorite posters. Poster teams that receive the highest numbers of tokens will receive non-cash prizes.
