Additive Manufacturing of Rocket and In-Space Propulsion Components

The aerospace industry is exploring additive manufacturing (AM) as a means to create unique parts in a fraction of the time and cost of traditionally-manufactured hardware. This research is utilizing AM to explore its application to rocket propulsion components including ducts, thrust chambers, and regeneratively-cooled nozzles with a variety of printing materials and techniques.

It is the intention that this work will serve as the foundation for larger and more advanced rocket propulsion research projects to come at OSU.
