Raj Ganesh

Raj GaneshRaj is a Ph.D. student in our research group working on the distillation of viscous systems project with Fractionation Research Inc. (FRI). He joined our group in Fall 2015, after receiving his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from A. C. Tech, Anna University, Guindy, Chennai, India.

Raj’s current work is focused on setting up a distillation experimental facility and quantifying the effect of viscosity on distillation efficiency. The ultimate goal of his project is to develop an efficiency correlation for high viscosity systems applicable to both lab and industrial models. He is also working on setting up a new experimental facility to conduct vapor-liquid equilibrium experiments for new system development.

He has previously worked as a summer research intern at Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai (India) on extraction of polyphenols from tea particles.

His areas of interest include distillation, absorption, and process engineering.

In his spare time, he enjoys playing tennis and cricket.
