Imran Shaik


 Imran ShaikImran is currently a Ph.D. student in chemical engineering and holds Masters in chemical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in India and Bachelors in chemical engineering from National Institute of Technology Warangal in India back in 2005 and 2003 respectively.

He has around 10 years of work experience as a software engineer in developing applications for companies such as Dassault Systems, Paypal and Honeywell. By doing so, he gained versatile domain experience in CAD software, Payment processing engines, and industrial process equipment monitoring software.

Before joining as a Ph.D. student in OSU during Fall, 2015 he was working for Honeywell in India and Canada. He is a six-sigma green belt certified professional and was felicitated with various awards during his work tenure.

Apart from chemical engineering knowledge he has programming expertise in C++/C# languages, and modelling & simulation expertise in MATLAB Simulink and Fuzzy logic toolboxes.

His current research is related to Enhanced Oil Recovery through wettability alteration and focuses mainly on carbonate reservoirs. He is working under the guidance of Dr. Bikkina and Dr. Aichele and his research project is funded by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company through a collaboration with Rice University.
