David Huntsman is the senior researcher and owner of Huntsman Consulting, LLC. His research focuses primarily in the areas of organizational behavior and human resource management in high-risk organizations. He holds a PhD in Fire and Emergency Management Administration at Oklahoma State University. As a quantitative researcher, Dr. Huntsman has helped a range of private organizations address complex issues, has lead numerous grant funded projects from the IAFC, FEMA, USGS, NOAA, and NSF, and has published in various outlets such as Safety Science and the International Journal of Emergency Services. Dr. Huntsman blends his experience in academia (e.g.,Postdoctoral Research at SUNY) and industry (e.g., Research Scientist for the Just Culture Company) to conduct rigorous applied research. He has worked with many fire departments around the country exploring issues related to leadership, decision-making, and firefighter well-being.
