About Us
Our History
Oklahoma State University's College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT)
Professional Development has a nearly century-long history rooted in the land-grant
mission. Our department was founded to deliver practical, applied training across
industries such as defense, construction, health, and safety. Our programs are hands-on
and utilize university resources, including engineering labs, to ensure participants
acquire real-world, applicable skills. Over the years, we have expanded to serve state,
national, and international clients, with a strong focus on industry-responsive training.
Thanks to Oklahoma State University’s renowned Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology programs and faculty, we offer a comprehensive Fire Protection and Property Loss Control curriculum. For over 30 years, this program has provided essential technical skills related to fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and fire detection and alarm systems.
The GPCoE
In 2023, CEAT Professional Development partnered with OSU’s Industrial Training and
Assessment Center to launch the Great Plains Center of Excellence. This initiative
serves a 13-state region, offering energy management, energy efficiency, clean energy
training, workforce development, and educational resources across various industries.
Continuing to work for you
Our team continues to innovate, introducing new programs in collaboration with OSU
subject matter experts. For instance, we now offer online micro-credential programs,
such as Construction Project Management, designed for professionals seeking critical
skills in a flexible, self-paced format. These programs underscore our ongoing commitment
to the land-grant mission and meeting industry needs.
