The BCEL
The majority of this work has focused on improving the durability and constructability of concrete. However, there has also been important work done in aggregate, asphalt, timber, and steel. Most of these material and construction capabilities have been housed in the Bert Cooper Engineering Laboratory (BCEL). The BCEL is a state-of-the-art 33,000 ft2 facility that houses the construction materials research.
