In 1977, the Board of Directors of the Cleveland Section agreed to establish the G. Brooks Earnest Technical Lecture Award to express the Section's appreciation of the life-long services of G. Brooks Earnest as an educator, President of the ASCE National (1962), President of Fenn College (1952-1964), and President of the Cleveland Section (1943).
